Day 1: Arrival in Kota Kinabalu

Your adventure begins as you arrive at Kota Kinabalu Airport. After a warm welcome, you’ll be transferred to a city hotel in Kota Kinabalu, where you can relax and enjoy your first evening at leisure. Take this time to explore the vibrant city or simply unwind in your comfortable accommodations.

Day 2: Countryside Discovery Cycling

The real adventure kicks off with an exhilarating countryside cycling tour. Starting at 9 AM, you’ll pedal through picturesque paddy fields, lush plantations, and quaint villages. This eight-hour tour includes a visit to the Dusun community at Kg. Tombung and a delightful lunch by the Kiulu Riverside. The scenic trails, suspension bridges, and refreshing streams will leave you rejuvenated and ready for more.

Day 3: Gaya Island Trek & Sapi Island Snorkeling

On day three, embark on a 15-minute ferry ride to Gaya Island, the largest of the five islands in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. Here, you’ll trek through coastal vegetation, mangrove swamps, and lowland forests. After the trek, transfer to Sapi Island for a day of snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing on its white sandy beaches. Remember to bring your insect repellent, towel, and other personal items for a comfortable experience.

Day 4: Journey to Tabin Wildlife Reserve

After a morning flight to Lahad Datu, you’ll be transported to the Tabin Wildlife Reserve. Nestled beside the Lipad River, the Tabin Wildlife Resort offers a serene setting to discover the region’s rich biodiversity. In the afternoon, explore the Elephant Trail and the Lipad Mud Volcano, a popular spot for wildlife sightings. Day 5: Exploring Tabin Wildlife Reserve

Begin your day with an early morning bird walk, followed by a trek to the Lipad Waterfall. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pool or explore the surrounding vegetation. The afternoon includes a relaxing rainforest foot soak, while the evening offers another opportunity to spot nocturnal wildlife during a dusk drive and night walk.

Day 6: Transfer to Sepilok Jungle Resort

After breakfast, check out from Tabin Wildlife Resort and travel to a  Lodge in Sepilok. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, soaking in the tranquility of your new surroundings.

Day 7: Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre & Kinabatangan River

Day seven starts with a visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Here, you’ll learn about the conservation efforts for these incredible primates and witness their feeding sessions. Next, visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre before heading to Bilit village on the Kinabatangan River. A late afternoon river cruise will introduce you to the region’s unique wildlife, including the endemic Proboscis monkeys.

Day 8: Kinabatangan River Exploration

Choose between an early morning river cruise or a jungle trek to the Ox-Bow Lake for bird watching. The day is filled with leisure activities and another chance for a river cruise in the afternoon. The Bilit Rainforest Lodge provides a perfect base for these explorations.

Day 9: Departure from Sandakan Airport

On your final day, check out after breakfast and transfer to Sandakan Airport. If time permits, visit the Rainforest Discovery Centre for a last glimpse of Borneo’s unique flora and fauna before heading home.
